Are you an experienced and driven PLC Engineer who enjoys custom solutions and technical challenges? At Van Gooi, you work on high‑end automation solutions. From concept to delivery for unique projects, including luxury yachts and complex installations worldwide. Your work ensures that machines and installations operate reliably and efficiently.

What will you do?

Make a Difference as a PLC Engineer

As a PLC Software Engineer at Van Gooi, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining industrial automation systems. You work independently on projects, from analysing functional requirements to testing and commissioning systems at customer locations, often in unique settings such as luxury private yachts in Monaco.

You are given the freedom to apply your creativity and technical expertise and actively contribute to innovation within the team.

Your daily focus includes:

Designing and developing PLC programs according to the IEC 61131‑3 standard using Structured Text (ST)

Working with CODESYS (object‑oriented programming), with the option to also program in Siemens TIA Portal

Integrating industrial networks and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP

Testing, debugging, and commissioning systems, both at the office and on‑site at customer locations

Delivering technical documentation and performing maintenance activities to ensure reliability and continuity

Contributing to innovation by researching new products and technologies

In addition, you bring:

Bachelor’s level of education and thinking, preferably in Industrial Automation

Proven experience with PLC programming and automation projects

Knowledge of CODESYS and object‑oriented programming

Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, HMI development, and SCADA systems is a plus

Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP

Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset

Availability to work 32 or 40 hours per week

Willingness to travel for projects, if desired
